Fall in our Farmhouse Kitchen
Most kitchens are the heart of the home, and our Farmhouse Kitchen is no exception. Fall is my absolute favorite time of the year, so excuse me if I go a bit overboard here. I will be sharing our Kitchen in Three Parts. Today – it’s the Breakfast Area and Breakfast Room Tablescape.
There are those who love Spring with a passion, and those who are saddened when the Summer months pass. Me – I am a Fall gal. I love every single thing about this season. As a matter of fact, if you took a peak inside my closet you would see lots of Autumnal colors within my wardrobe. My spirit comes alive when the days turn cooler and the leaves begin to turn. So as I said, if it seems I go a little overboard in our home with the Fall decor – maybe you can forgive me.
Today starts a series of posts where I will be sharing mini tours of our home dressed for Fall. I start in the favorite area of our home – our Farmhouse Kitchen. If you are coming here from Twelve on Main – welcome!
Before we get started, I am excited to tell you that today is Day 5 of the Fall Farmhouse Tours 2017. Throughout this past week, some amazing bloggers have been sharing their own Fall Home Tours. This tour is being hosted by Deb at Seeking Lavender Lane. This week of Home Tours is sponsored by Kirklands and I am so excited that one lucky reader will win a $1500 Kirkland’s Gift Card. You can enter below so please make sure you read all the way through. The links to the other blogger’s tours will be provided, as well.
………………………………………………………….
Let’s start with the Tablescape on our Breakfast Room Table…
I have used much more blue this year. I am totally in love with this navy/orange combo and think I will even add some more of this palette to my Fall wardrobe. All of these items I have used were already in my cupboards.
I layered white wood chargers, blue scalloped plates, white salad plates and Frenchy Style soup crocks. Each crock features a small pumpkin and a mini paper leaf name tag.
The Pumpkin Centerpiece started out with a white ironstone soup tureen. A boxwood wreath and fall leaves create a base for a pretty pumpkin. Around the base of the centerpiece I added mini pumpkins, acorns and a small sign I created with a printable I designed.
This is but one of the signs and I will be sharing this easy project and the free printables next week. Last Fall when we took a trip to the NC Mountain and I could not help myself and purchased these mini white pitchers. When I say mini, I mean they are only about 2″ tall.
They were filled simply with leaf cuttings from our yard and berries. Aren’t they adorable?
The navy goblets were a thrift store find years ago and are the perfect color with all of the orange accents.
I have created lots of tablescapes in the 10 years that I have been blogging, but this one was one of more simpler ones – yet one of my favorites.
Next, I want to share with you the area where I store most of my dishes. A black painted chest which also happens to be where “Cleetus” resides.
Usually I dress the eucalyptus wreath around Cleetus, but this year I left it plain and unadorned. I filled a vintage farmhouse basket with pumpkins, hydrangea and grapevine from our property…
More blues and oranges that coordinate with the tablescape…
On each side of the basket, I have some DIY Fall Picture Frames…another project I will share with you next week. This frame features acorns and moss and holds my sweet granddaughter’s picture.
I purchased three of these cute mini pumpkins at Kirklands because this simple message is how my heart feels every single day.
Another item I purchased at Kirkland’s is a Basket Ladder. I needed something to hold my potatoes and onions and fruit and this fit perfectly in our kitchen. (plus kinda conceals the alarm. lol)
I added some of my heavier cookbooks on the bottom basket to help keep it anchored; potatoes and onions in the third basket; fresh apples in the 2d basket and some beautiful breads on top. I love the small name plates attached to each basket…
If you do not happen to have a Kirkland’s nearby, you can find one of these Basket Ladders HERE.
Next week, I will share the other side of the Breakfast Room along with two easy DIY Fall projects – the mini 4×4 Fall Signs and 3 DIY Fall Picture Frames. Here is a sneak peak of our Blue Chest dressed for Fall…

Barb, you always do such a lovely job with your decor! It’s so beautiful — everything! I just love how you have mixed your colors. The acorn frame that you made is so cute! Also, I love your tiered basket stand. I’m going to have to check Kirkland’s on line as we do not have a Kirkland’s here in Canada — and I just love that store! When we winter in Texas, I just love shopping at the Kirkland’s there. They always have such lovely things! I always seem to find something that I just can’t live without!
Have a blessed weekend, Barb! Keep you in my prayers with your health immune disorder. Blessings, dear friend!
