I went into Target for socks.
Yep, socks. I needed some warm socks because evidently, somewhere between last Winter and this Winter, all of my socks decided to move en masse to Florida, where it wasn’t so cold and they were not so needed. I can see a bunch of socks relaxing on a beach in Florida, with a little umbrella drink beside them. Hope they use sunscreen. Ha! So what started out as a trip to Target for warm socks, turned into cute Sweater Stocking Pillows.

I found these cute little, navy blue sweater stockings at Target in the Dollar section. They were only $3 each. I love the cute little, white poms. Now, I realize not everyone can use this color. Navy is not a typical Christmas color. But, when you just so happen to own two navy blue chairs in your Living Room, they are perfect.
I already had these two sweater pillows which I had created last Christmas from a Goodwill sweater. They were the perfect size pillows for this project. You can read my easy instructions for making a DIY Sweater Pillow here.
Here is how these same sweater pillows were used last year…
After simply attaching the mini stocking to the front of the sweater pillow with some needle and thread, I then filled the stocking with sprigs of greenery and a few berries. It literally took me about 10 minutes from start to finish.
I added a navy plaid throw plus a snowflake-design runner on the back of the chair, and I love how well it all came together…
I have put in a lot of hours on our home this Christmas season. But, this was one of the easiest, least expensive and quickest projects I completed. I sure do love the impact it gave our Living Room.

Wow, I forgot how easy it is to make a sweater pillow. And with the blue stocking attached, it seems to make it so much more personal.

The sweater pillow and stocking in blue is so cute. My computer image makes the stocking look royal blue, not navy. I’d like to pick up a stocking in Target if it’s royal. Could you tell me what color it’s closer to. It’s quite a drive to Target from my home. Miles and time are either too much or too little this time of year. Merry Christmas.

Hi Sue I would say it’s somewhere between navy and royal. not quite a true navy or a true royal, if that makes sense. I would call first as I got the last two and that was about a month ago.
