Today was the perfect Fall day.
I had the windows open and it was a perfect 72 degrees. I packed away the last empty, Fall Bin. A girl needs to know when she has enough pumpkins and gourds in the home. Although, CAN you have too many pumpkins and gourds this time of year? 🙂 Yea, I guess you can. I don’t usually set up two tablescapes. I usually only do the formal Dining Room table or the breakfast table. I guess I really could not help myself this year, because I did two tablescapes. Next week, I will share the Breakfast Room tablescape – but today we’re gonna head into our Dining Room to take a look at my Rustic and Elegant Fall Tablescape.
RUSTIC AND ELEGANT FALL TABLESCAPE
………………………………………..
I shared with you how I took a standard craft store pumpkin, and created an Easy Pumpkin Candleholder. I made two of these, one for each side of a tall, white lantern which would hold center stage in the Fall Tablescape. I only made some small purchases for this tablescape, otherwise, I had every other element already on hand. After a few minutes of cutting some oak leaves from our yard, I was all set to put together a tablescape that had some rustic elements, as well as, some traditional and more elegant elements. Here is what inspired this tablescape…
A few weeks ago, I shared our Brick Fireplace Makeover and how we added beadboard and a rustic mantel. I am so in love with how it looks now. I dressed the mantel with heirloom pumpkins, dried sunflowers and greenery such as fern, along with lots of fall berries.
I knew the tablescape I created had to reflect this same style.
I started with a tall, white IKEA lantern. Laying lots of oak branches as a base, I then added the two Pumpkin Candleholders on each side.
The placesettings is where I added a touch of the elegant…
Square, gold chargers are layered with plain, white plates. Last year I made these napkins from a fall-inspired Jacobean fabric. They worked beautifully again this year.
I found these lovely votive holders at Kmart, if you can believe that. I bought two in rust/orange, two in brown and two in an apple green color. These was the only things I purchased and they were 50% off. I made small berry wreaths from leftover garland which I added around the leaf votives.
I bought these placecard holders many, many years ago when we lived in Europe. They look like mini, gold urns. I used a more rustic, brown tag to pair with the elegant-style urns.
The vintage, stemware could not have been more perfect…my hubby’s grandmother’s brown goblets and some amber wine glasses bought in England.
The wingback chairs at each end of the table were also dressed with a cozy, Fall throw and a pretty leaf pillow. Most times, you will find one of our fur babies in these chairs sleeping the day away.
I had to share how pretty this table is at night, when the candles are lit. On Thanksgiving night, I will clear away a few of the pumpkins, but this is basically how the table will remain and be set for dinner.
I love to create a tablescape that is full and lush. Pumpkins, berries and gourds fill in around the lantern and Candleholders.
Looking at this tablescape, it reminds me how much I adore Fall. Traditional colors will always be part of our home. Reds, oranges, browns and varying shades of greens make me happy this time of year.
I can’t imagine our house without color, nor can I imagine Fall without these particular colors, also.
I hope my homage to Fall and all of these beautiful Autumnal colors and elements inspires you to create your own Rustic and Elegant Fall Tablescape, too.
Thank for for letting me share our home and my love of Fall with you.
xxoo, Barb

Your table is stunning! The place setting are my favorite part (although it’s all beautiful). The tealights and the twigs just speak to me. Gorgeous! Thanks for sharing your decor ideas with us at Merry Monday this week!
