Cozy Winter Decor Ideas
Winter decor means different things to different people. To me, it’s all about textures and fabrics and adding “Winter” elements without looking like you forgot to put out your Christmas decor. Here are a few of my Cozy Winter Decor Ideas.
Wools and pinecones and frosty elements. I added all of these elements and more recently to our Breakfast Room. I was so ready for the Christmas decor to be packed away and put back into storage. Now, I just want to settle in with cups of coffee, great Winter pillows and throws, and an amazing book. *(I am reading Pride and Prejudice for the 6th time.) 🙂
…………………………………………
I have a secret.
I love to sew. My Mama taught me at an early age, and whenever I pull out my machine and start sewing, I remember how much I enjoy it. But, sometimes…{okay maybe more often than “sometimes”} – I rely on some handy dandy pinking sheers and don’t sew at all.
These are the fabrics I started with…
A gorgeous wool stripe and some soft fleece. I trimmed the edges and cut the fabrics to the sizes I needed…
I do promise I will sew these.
Later. 😀
I love the layered look when I am creating a cozy look and feel. I like to dress our home as if I would dress myself. Warm wools and layers. I started a evergreen tree dressed in crystal snowflakes…
Then I layered in lanterns, a stag statue and antlers.
It’s a simple vignette. Nothing to froo-froo and colorful. The Winter may be void of color, but I also see it still as “colorful.” Browns and tans and grays…
Each morning, this is where me and The Hubbs have coffee and we check our emails. So I decided to add some pretty tartan plaid throws.
There’s also a cute pillow I designed. It’s available in my Society 6 Shop.
Over on the sideboard, I have kept the vignette simple…
A fluffy “Winter” wreath surrounds Cleetus, and frosted pinecones fill the blue and white Staffordshire Soup Tureen.
Hues of blue fill the Breakfast Room.
So the weather may be frightful outside – but inside we are surrounded by a Winter palette that evokes nothing but warmth and comfort.
Max the Cat is eyeing that fleece runner. He’ll be coming inside to lay on it in 3…2….
I hope you enjoyed visiting with me today.
Have a blessed day – xxoo, Barb

Laura – I had to spread out a remnant piece so they each had some, and now a 3rd cat has joined them. We no longer have a breakfast table. 🙂

Your home is really lovely Barb. There are just so many bits and pieces that make it feel so cozy and I love the way you’ve used different tones of blue in your decor. It’s not a color you see often but i always think it makes such a lovely statement
