I am on a wreath-making frenzy.
I can’t help. It’s that time of year.
I am happy to report my Dining Room is complete,
and I have moved on to my kitchen and breakfast room.
I wanted to hang little boxwood wreaths on the front
of my white kitchen cabinet doors, but when I priced them
at $14 and $16 each…I had to come up with
an alternative plan. (I needed seven!)
So, I shopped around online, found a product I liked
and in under an hour, made these easy….
DIY Mini Faux Boxwood Wreaths
I am so thrilled to be taking part in Farmhouse Friday,
and you are in for some amazing treats from
all the ladies participating. Please make sure you follow
along to the end and I will share each project with you.
I located a *faux boxwood garland online for about $8.
At 9′ long, it allowed me to get three mini wreaths per garland.
I needed a base because the garlands themselves were
flimsy and would not hold their shape on their own.
So in steps a few of these…
Wire clothes hangers.
(Can I just say here and now I was surprised I even had
SEVEN of these still around?) 😀
I cut the hanger part off, and shaped it into a circle.
Don’t worry if it’s not an exact circle, it won’t matter
once the garland is attached.
Then I simply wired the garland on to the wire circle.
It could not have been any easier.
I was worried the faux boxwood would look too..
well…FAUX. But once it was all wired on I was
quite thrilled with the overall look.
Finally, I added my theme ribbon for this year, a sweater
ribbon, which you may have seen on my JOY Letters
and, also, on my DIY Natural Evergreen Wreaths.
They look so darling on the front of my cabinet doors.
I love how they give an instant Farmhouse feel,
and the sweater design will be repeated throughout the
kitchen and breakfast room in varying forms.
I would love to have the real version of these wreaths, but
unless I wanted to strip down the boxwoods in our yard,
I had to make do with the faux variety.
At about $4 each, and the fact that I can keep using these
again in the future makes them a win-win, don’t you think?
Where would you use these mini wreaths?
I would love it if you would follow me along
on PINTEREST, and while you’re at it –
would you mind pinning these images to some
of your favorite Pinterest Boards?
