Hi, my dearest Everyday Friends!
Over the next few weeks, I will be taking some time
away from blogging to deal with my declining
health, and possibly even have some major surgery.
But, I have lined up some very gracious friends who
have offered to Guest Post here at
The Everyday Home.
You will love each one I am sure!
I look forward to being back and will update you
as I can. I ask for your prayers over these
next few weeks.
xxoo, Barb
The first Guest Blogger I have lined up for you is a
very dear friend whom I love dearly.
You will love her, too.
Please welcome Yvonne with Stone Gable.
Easy DIY Outdoor Pillows
Every once in a while we all stumble on something
that I like to call “A MILLION DOLLAR IDEA”!
Some projects make you bonk you head and say…
“Why didn’t I think of that?“
And when you make the project you think it’s the
best thing you have ever done!!!!
This SEW EASY OUTDOOR PILLOW is one
of those million dollar ideas. And they were less
than $1.00 to make!!! No more soggy outdoor
pillows. No more “spot clean” only pillows.
No more hunting the farm fields if one blows
away. These are great little pillows that will give
your outdoor living spaces a fabulous
pop of pizzazz!!!
A big thanks to my friend, Barb, for asking me
to guest post. I love THE EVERYDAY HOME
and am thrilled to be here today. Lot’s of prayers for
you for a speedy recovery back to full health…
and lots of virtual hugs, too!
I purchased a flannel-backed vinyl tablecloth at the
Dollar Store for $4.00 and got (4) 18-inch pillows
from it. You can’t beat that for great decor style
for your dollar!!!!
It took about 30 minutes to make my first pillow,
but the second, third and fourth only took about
15 minutes each!!! They were that easy to whip up!!!
Let’s make one… it’s as easy as 1… 2……………….
well, just 1…2!
1. Using a flannel backed vinyl tablecloth, cut out 2
pieces for each pillows. Cut out a square the size
of the pillow form you want to use and add 1/2 inch
to all size!
I made an 18 inch pillow so I cut 2- 19 inch squares.
EASY PEASY!
With RIGHT SIDES TOGETHER, sew three sides of
the pillow using a half inch seam allowance.
Leave the bottom of the pillow open.
2. Turn the pillow to the right side and stuff it
with a polyester pillow form. Stitch the bottom of the
pillow closed.
TA-DA!!!! How cute is this pillow?
Just think how easy and inexpensive it will be to
switch out your outdoor pillows with the
changing seasons! LOVE it!
I’ll be making these outdoor pillows for all my
porch rockers and chairs.
Barb, thanks again for letting me stop by and share
a project I’m so excited about with your readers!!!!
Hugs all ’round!!!
Yvonne

It is brilliant huh, and so much cheaper than the real outdoor fabric. Glad you found me here. Please come back to visit.

Great idea! I would like to try this. Did you use a larger needle when sewing? I’ve never sewn on vinyl before.

Love this idea! I just saw another post where someone made these adorable reusable snack packs from tablecloths. Now, I’m wondering what else I can make out of tablecloths? Maybe I’ll issue a challenge? Thanks for the inspiration!
