Years ago, when I was a little girl –
(ok, many years ago)
😀
– my Mama and I potted several plants.
She explained to me they were called Hens and Chicks.
I had no idea these plants were in the Succulent family.
All I knew was those cute little Mama and Baby plants
were dear to my heart because my Mama pointed
to our new planter and small plants and said…
“See, there’s me – and there’s you.”
I think I have had a love affair with succulents since then.
I wanted to share these fabulous 25 ideas for using
these plants around your home and in your garden.

Great ideas I really like the wreath. We called them Hen and Chicks when I was a kid too. My grandma use to fill in my grandpa’s old work boots with them. They’ve made quite the comeback this year. It’s neat when that happens. Hope you have a great week.

I love succulents too – and same as you my first knowledge of any succulent was hens and chicks! My Mom had a big volcanic rock she got somewhere and I remember watching my Dad drill holes in it so Mom could plant ‘hens and chicks’! I loved that there were ‘baby’ plants as ‘baby’ anything was awesome to me 🙂 My girls all loved the idea of the baby plants too and we now have our own crop of hens and chicks – I love succulents because they are so forgiving when I forget to water them 🙂

Thank you for this great round up. I also remember them being called Hens & Chick’s. I don’t have a lot of experience with succulents so this will help me tremendously since I have taken a new interest in them the last few years. I’ve added you to my circles since I love anything to do with home. I’m hoping to start my own blog soon. Would love for you to add me and any advice would be appreciated so much and much-needed:) Thanks again!!
