“Bunny Bars in a Jar”
I have come to the conclusion that Bloggers must be some
of the most fickle people there are.
When Fall is nearing…Fall is my favorite time of the year.
When Christmas is approaching – Christmas is my favorite time of year.
As Spring is upon us and Easter is approaching –
I can’t wait to get out all of the pink and yellow
and bunnies and eggs.
This easy project of “Bunny Bars in a Jar” is a perfect start to
getting my Spring on.
Maybe it isn’t so much about being “fickle” as it is
about enjoying each moment.
And simply relishing each Season.
As I have been saying so many times in the past few weeks –
it’s about “Living in the Now.”
So – this week – I am getting a Hop on my Spring decor.
This week also kicks off a fabulous event in Blogland.
I could not be more excited!
The All Things Home “Swing Into Swing”
Week of Linky Parties.
I will be hosting the Porches and Wreaths Event this Friday,
but the sweet Lucy with Craftberry Bush is kicking off the week
with Spring Mantels.
Her co-hosts for this event will be:
The Lilypad Cottage and French Country Cottage.
Three amazing Blogs!
I can’t wait to see all the Mantel Inspiration from
these ladies and from everyone sharing their mantels.
Please make sure you visit each of the Host Blogs for
more Spring Inspiration.
So what exactly are Bunny Bars in a Jar?
It’s all of the dry ingredients needed to make some
ooey-gooey, crunchy marshmallow bars.
It’s two treats in one.
A sweet Gift in a Jar and a yummy dessert.
I am making these for Teacher Gifts for the kid’s.
Here are the ingredients and supplies you will need:
(1) Quart Jar:
cleaned and completely dried
6-8 Marshmallow Bunny Peeps
you can use all one color or 2-3 colors
1 1/4 Cup Easter-colored M&M’s
1/3 Cup Brown Sugar
(1) Sleeve Graham Crackers
I used my food processor to create graham cracker crumbs.
Put the crumbs in an airtight ziplock baggy.
Add the candies to the jar.
Next – add the Bunny Peeps.
I also had some blue Bunny Peeps…but somehow, they disappeared
from the bag.
Hmmmmm… wondering where I will find the
package wrappings stashed away.
Add the brown sugar to another ziplock baggy and roll it up tightly.
Then, tuck it inside the circle of Bunny Peeps.
Finally, add the baggy of graham cracker crumbs on top.
Now, you could simply screw the metal top back on.
You could even make a cute printable and cut it out and stick it on.
Or, cut out a round of pretty scrapbook paper to decorate the top.
Or….
(Did she go there? Oh yes she did!)
… you could use some of the leftover moss sheeting and cut a
circle that fits your jar top.
You can’t have Bunnies without grass now can you?
Finally, you add some pretty ribbons…
– and a homemade, stamped tag.
I also added a little stamped message on the back.
I printed out the complete recipe and instructions and
tucked it on top of the graham cracker crumbs.
Making these bars could not be any simpler.
You dump all of the dry ingredients into a mixing bowl.
Using kitchen snips or a knife, you cut the Bunny Peeps
into small pieces.
(Probably not a good idea to let the kiddos see you mutilating the bunnies.)
Then, you simply add 1 tsp vanilla and 1-1/2 sticks of melted butter.
Toss well to coat all the pieces.
Pour the mixture into a coated 9″ glass baking dish,
and bake in a preheated 375 degree oven for about 15-20 mins.
Let the pan completely cool, then cut into 9 bars.
They won’t be perfectly conformed bars.
They will be crumbly and marshmallowy and crunchy and
just a bit sweet from the graham crackers.
I may be just a little bit addicted.
You could easily personalize the tag with a name.
Won’t these make fabulous gifts to give at Easter time?
I gathered all of my ingredients (accept the jar) at the Dollar Tree
so I do not have a whole lot invested in these Gift Jars.
A big impact for not a lot of money!
That is SWEET!
I hope you are able to make some of these
Bunny Bars in a Jar.
I would love for you to pin these to your favorite
Pinterest Boards.
Thanks for letting me share this fun project.
Now HOP on over to Craftberry Bush for some
beautiful Mantel Inspiration.
See you Monday night at 6pm for The Scoop Linky Party.
Join me later this week for the return of
“Crafty Cat.”
What will she be up to this week?

The Easter jars are adorable! And the jar is so much more useful than the pastel colored baskets that can really only be stored away. Kids could use the jars to collect change, store mini legos, or a million other things.Or parents can re-use them for food gifts or storage.
