Farmhouse Friday is back!
And, I am so excited to share this week’s theme…
Farmhouse Christmas.
Are you in the throes of Christmas decorating yet?
Or – maybe you’re holding out until after the turkey
and dressing has been put away, and the last bit of
pumpkin pie has been devoured.
Either way – I thought it would be fun to take a look
at some inspirational pics celebrating a
Farmhouse Christmas.
My sweet friend Jennifer at Town and Country Living
lives the Farmhouse life every day. Her beautiful home
is one of my favorites, and she is always a source of inspiration.
Design Tip:
1) Fill simple white pitchers with fresh cut greens such as
cedar, boxwood and pine.
2) Inexpensive glass ornaments create a colorful statement
when placed in white farmhouse bowls.
Let’s face it.
Anything Mason Jar screams Farmhouse.
I love these vintage jars filled with snow and
bottle brushes.
Design Tip:
If you don’t have any bottle brushes
available, add a small sprig of holly or
even some mistletoe, or fill with small
glass ornaments.
City Farmhouse shares three lovely Farmhouse-style
Christmas ornaments. These are easy to make
and can be created using scraps of fabric.
Design Tip:
Styrofoam Balls can be expensive, especially
when you need to make a lot of ornaments.
Here’s a little hint…ball up newspaper or
even better – tin foil – into balls. Wrap with duct tape.
Instant “balls” you can wrap with fabric or jute, etc.
Such a simple touch which adds a touch of farmhouse
to your mantel.
And speaking of burlap…
… look how beautiful this burlap wrapped tree is. Use pre-made
burlap ribbon, or cut strips from burlap yardage.
Look at this fabulous tree stand that Chanty 2 Chic
used. An upside-down galvanized tub!
#fabulous
Design Tip:
Do you have a Tractor Supply near you?
Check out their amazing and well-priced selection
of galvanized containers in all shapes and sizes.
Blue Roof Cabin filled a vintage wood box with
greenery, pinecones, logs and lights.
I love this idea!
Boxwood wreaths. Oh yes!
And this brown-checked ribbon is to die for.
Design Tip:
Preserved boxwood wreaths can be very pricey,
but they make artificial boxwood wreaths that are almost lifelike.

Brown paper and music sheet wrapping papers.
Such a simple look when ties with simple bows.
Design Tip:
Use craft store stamps to add monograms and
designs to brown paper wrapping.
Old Wooden Boxes filled with greenery.
Old wood boxes and tool boxes can be filled with almost
anything and still be beautiful, but this stunning
centerpiece of greens, candles and berries makes a
perfect Farmhouse Christmas statement.
Design Tip:
If you can’t find a vintage box, consider building one
using palette slats or pine boards.
Layers and Layers!
When creating a Farmhouse Mantel, try layering several
vintage items together such as an old windowframe or
a chippy shutter – and add simple white bowls and
pitchers filled with fresh greens.

This is such a beautiful post! I saved it and I’m using it for inspiration. I already hung a boxwood wreath on the front of my hutch. Now, I’m trying to recreate your tablescape! My husband has agreed to make the wooden box. Looks like yours is about 6″ tall as it’s just about level with your glasses? I’m thinking that the candles are in candle holders to elevate them. Did you somehow put wet floral foam inside to keep the greenery alive? I would love to see a tutorial on your centerpiece! Thank you for the inspiration!
