Happy Thursday, everyone! I am so excited that Leslie
with House on the Way, my Craft Editor, is back with
another super-dooper craft idea.
I love Leslie’s ideas, and I
think you will love this one, too.
~DIY Fall Art~
Hello Everyday Home readers! It’s me…Leslie…and I’m so
excited to be back, sharing another easy craft.
Fall is in the air, so it’s the perfect time to do a great craft
celebrating this beautiful season. Today I’m showing you how you
can create your own Fall Canvas Artwork.
This easy craft is great because it requires just a few supplies
and it can be finished in less than an hour!
The supplies you’ll need include: a canvas, Mod Podge, foam
brush and card stock.
I used my Silhouette to cut leaves and a pumpkin from two patterns
of card stock. I chose paper with fun designs and colors that are
associated with Fall. If you don’t have a Silhouette, you could use
stencils or cut the designs free hand.
The first step is to cover your canvas with Mod Podge and
apply the background paper. I cut the paper large enough to
cover the front and the sides of the canvas. This will give you a
traditional finished canvas look to your art.
Once you have applied the paper, smooth out any wrinkles or
air bubbles and let the Mod Podge dry. For my design, I just
played around with the placement of the pumpkin and leaves
until I was satisfied with the look. I applied more Mod Podge
over the entire canvas and began placing the shapes.
Once your design is finished, you will apply another coat of
Mod Podge over the shapes. As you can see, the Mod Podge goes
on white, but dries clear.
And just like that….you have your own Fall Canvas Artwork!
You can hang your canvas on the wall or use an easel for display.
Or you can do what I did and simply lean it on your mantel.
It’s a great little touch of Fall!
Thank you so much for letting me share this craft with you today
