Sand Dollar & Burlap Framed Art
Hello! It’s me…Leslie from House on the Way. I’m so happy to be back at The Everyday Home and so
excited about the craft that I’m sharing with you today! I LOVE the way it turned out!
Plus, it was so easy…which is how I love my crafts.
Today I’m sharing my Sand Dollar & Burlap Framed Art.
Recently I have seen several items similar to this at HomeGoods. The only problem was that they were more than I want to pay,
plus I knew I could DIY it!
I found this great antique frame at a local flea market. The shape is beautiful and it has a bowed glass,
which was great for this project. I already had the burlap from a previous craft and I picked up the sand dollars at a shell shop
for a couple of dollars each.
I cut my burlap to fit the shape of the existing cardboard back that was in the frame, leaving about 2 inches on all sides.
Using a hot glue gun, I glued the burlap around the cardboard, pulling the burlap taut. I glued the center of all four sides
first and then went back and glued the remaining burlap.
Next, I glued each sand dollar onto the burlap.
I started with the center and spaced them evenly on the cardboard. Do not press too hard, because they will break.
They are very delicate, but with the hot glue they will adhere easily.
Because the glass was bowed, they fit perfectly in the frame. You could also frame them without the glass.
I am so in love with my Sand Dollar Art!
I think I may tackle starfish next!
I’ve had a blast sharing with you today! The readers of The Everyday Home are the best!

Love it. I saw a frame like this at an antique mall this week…it would go perfect on the gallery wall I am trying to put together.

Here’s wish you a belated 39th, Barb! 😉 And, to easy Summer DIY. I love the Sand Dollar Art Leslie! The frame makes it extra special and I’m always a sucker for some burlap; that texture against the sand dollars is perfect! xxoo

Would it be nice if the frame has different shape? That’s an easy DIY frame. It’s simple yet so nice. Thanks
