I moved to a larger office building this past weekend.
If you looked up the word “Exhausted” in the dictionary,
I’m pretty sure you would see a picture of me as
reference. Glad that is done.
I stopped by a second-hand store to pick up a few
extra file cabinets. I didn’t get any cabinets, but I found
two items which I heart!
The first is this metal pitcher for $1.
I am beginning to realize I have a fetish for pitchers. 🙂
I had in mind the perfect addition for this find.
Honeysuckle!
Our whole yard smells sweet and fragrant as soon as
you step out the door.
Here is a closer shot so you can get a good whiff…
Doesn’t that smell fabulous!!
I also cut some wild grapevine which is growing like
crazy around our property right now.
Doesn’t it go beautifully with the honeysuckle?
I love the wild look of this arrangement.
“Arrangement” is such a loose term, since there really
wasn’t anything involved but clipping and gathering.
The second find was this basket for $4!
Can I just say it was LOVE at first site.
Look at its beautiful patina.
I was going to oil it down but decided against it.
But it did need a good cleaning.
Otherwise, I knew where this beauty was also going.
A cookbook holder!
I own far too many cookbooks, but I like to keep a
few of my faves on display.
I have to laugh at this pic. The placement of the cookbooks
was totally unplanned, but I giggled when I was
downloading these pics.
Notice how my “Low-Carb” cookbook is right next to
Julia Child’s “Mastering the Art of French Cooking.”
Somehow I doubt that JC had these two books together
on her shelf, don’t you? 🙂
I placed one of my vintage kitchen scales in front with white
and brown-speckled farm eggs.
This is a favorite scales from my collection, and the eggs just seemed to go with the Farmhouse basket.
Even as tired as I was from moving a huge office, these simple
and inexpensive pieces inspired me to come home and
make a few simple changes in my kitchen.
Remember just a few months ago it was red, yellow and sage?
Here it is with newly painted white cabinets and khaki walls.
and the best part…
…it smells HEAVENLY!
Hope you have a wonderful week!
I will reveal my ENTIRE kitchen next Monday. 🙂

Barb, we have honeysuckle growing like crazy, too and the other bushes with the white blooms that also smell good. I brought honeysuckle in, too. Smells so good. I just wish they could bloom all summer.

I think I could actually smell that lovely Honeysuckle ..
I adore your kitchen remodel! Well, more like re-paint the cabinets. What an amazing transformation made by a can of paint …
Great finds too!

Love the kitchen Barb! It really looks so clean and airy. Of course I loved the reds and golds, but totally understand wanting a change. I have been seeing alot of white kitchens lately and love them.
I am having fun adding in a little blue to my decor. Glad you like it by the way.
I love how your living room is turning out. It is so pretty with all of the color!
Thanks for your nice comments on the patio! We are really enjoying it. It is definitely a happy place to be. Kristen
