Okay – maybe not a “craze” exactly, but I have definitely seen more of this design feature in catalogs and in online pics more than ever before. I have admit, I myself have fallen into this “craze” – for lack of a better word. Remember the fall pheasant feather wreath I hung in my foyer for Thanksgiving? It has been replaced with a Christmas wreath. I actually look forward to replacing it with other wreaths to coordinate with the the current holiday. Maybe the mirror is the new front door. 🙂
Here are a few wreaths from my inspiration files. From the simple to the extravagant, I love how the wreaths add another layer, and somewhat of an element of surprise to an existing mirror. Have you fallen into this “craze” this year?
I’d love to hear what you did….
I think its beautiful how the magnolia draped across this buffet echoes the wreath on the mirror.
Ladies, this screams “Southern.”
A wreath in its most basic form – holly – becomes an elegant statement when paired with a beautiful floral display and crystal- base buffet lamps.
This semi-monochromatic display of greens is the essence of elegance!
I love how the angel, added to the center of the wreath, is surrounded by the circle of ornaments. The abundance of greenery on the mantle completes this display.

Fruit is indeed the center of attention in this setting. The smaller wreath could have been overwhelmed on the larger mirror if not for the framing of the ribbon and cranberry garland on each side.
This gold and cream ensemble was discovered at my local Pottery during one
of my visits.
The bright red wreath is lovely and plays well against the gold mirror.
I hope you enjoyed these pics….
Blessings, Barb

Love wreaths on mirrors, Barb. Always have! And these pics are beautiful. (Would you post anything but?) Okay, so while you were away, I got 3 red berry wreaths for my large horizontal mirror. They just arrived today. 🙂

Wow…I was cool before it was in to be cool. Hee, hee. I’ve been putting wreaths on my family room mirror for about 15 years and on my dining room mirror for 3-4 years. Now I want one on my foyer mirror after seeing this post! Love the ones you posted! I love the idea of switching the entry/foyer one out for the different holidays…great idea! BTW, glad to see you are better. I am just now getting a few days off and can come around and visit. Your hubby was great keeping us all informed while you were sick. Susan

Beautiful! I guess I’ve been ahead of the trend, too, as I’ve put wreaths and other such elements on my mirrors for years!

Hi Barb,I love the look of wreaths on mirrors.I have one for my living room that is just Gold leaves that I have hung for years. It is simple because that room is done in a simple color scheme of celadon, cream and gold for Christmas.I have a white feather wreath I might put on a Venetian mirror in my guest room, haven’t decided yet or I might just prop it up on the bed like a pillow, hmmmm!what do you think? Thanks again ladies. These were fun pics weren’t they?
Kathysue – I think either sounds wonderful. Before I went to sleep, I was laying in bed and glanced up at the B letters I have hanging on each side of the bed, so Bill and I can remember what side we sleep on. Ha! Anyway, I thought how cool would it look to attach an initial to the front of a wreath to hang over a mirror. How’s that for layering? Me thinks I might have to do that one.LOL It would be a quickie version of the initial wreaths Martha makes.

Hi Barb…I love this idea! But I guess I would first have to invest in a few mirrors, although I have finally put up a new one in the hall. Have a great weekend… Debbie
