Barb was re-admitted to the hospital yesterday afternoon after it was decided her body was rejecting the stint. Her continued bouts of severe vomiting had totally dehydrated her. They operated today, and removed the stint and not one but seven stones. Even the Doc was a little surprised when the dye hit her system and showed the extent of her problems. One of the larger stones was lodged and was the primary reason for the infection. But, I am happy to report that when I left her earlier this evening – she was awake, joking with the corpsmen and nurses, and had managed to eat and keep down some mashed potatoes. That’s the first thing she has eaten other than saltines since Thanksgiving.
I would especially like to say thank you to Kathysue at Micassa for sending my wife the beautiful flowers. I took them to the hospital so she could enjoy them. She has also received countless emails sending her good wishes. I apologize if I have not responded back to them all but I’m sure Barb will be in touch once she is up and around.
The Doc says she should be released tomorrow afternoon if she continues to improve as she has this afternoon. I know she is ready to get back to a normal life and all her family is anxious to have her home.
Thank you again for your concern.
Sincerely,
Bill Garrett
