Do you have a go-to decorating style after the Christmas decor comes down?
To me, decorating after the holidays has always been the hardest. For one thing, it’s kinda nice for your house to take on a more toned down and mellow look after all the glitz and glam of the holidays. On the other hand, you realize your home needs something. But what? Pillows and throws have always been my Winter go-to items. Here are some of my fave!
15 Winter Pillows and Throws for Your Home
…………………………………………….
The problem with Winter decor after Christmas is not going overboard. If you add too much red, it looks like Christmas. If you add too much glitter, it looks like Christmas. And so on. I tend to add a few plain pinecones, maybe a few sprigs of cedar greenery…and then a generous supply of Winter style pillows and throws. I have quite a few fur pillows which carry me through the Christmas holiday all the way through Winter. Not only that…our cats love them. Ha!

This wood bowl of silver pinecones, above, would generally say Christmas if it were surrounded by lots of white lights and lots of greenery and garland. But placed on a table all alone, it feels more “Winter” in tone as a stand alone centerpiece.

Same goes for these small trees. Again, if they were paired with red and green decor, colorful Christmas balls and white lights – you would instantly think Christmas. But showcased in their simplicity, with a few silver baubles, it feels more “Winter” than Christmas.
Once again, this Snow Button pillow from Pottery Barn is the perfect example of how one item can be seen as “Christmas,” but paired with some white, neutral bedding it feels like instant Winter decor.
I think the key to decorating for Winter is to be sparse, be thoughtful, and be precise. That isn’t always easy for this “more is more” girl. 😀 I wanted to share some of my favorite Winter Pillows and Throws which are available through Amazon. I will share our Living Room next week, decorated with several of these items.

Love these ideas. I bought a few pillows before Christmas from your recommended site. Inexpensive and great quality. I do keep my snowman and evergreen decorations out for a while too! Thanks

I LOVE the snowman pillow, so whimsical! I’m finding myself obsessed with pillows these days too. There are so many to choose from out there.

If you have the space to store the ones not in use, pillows are such a great way to change up the look of a room through the seasons.

I love pillows, but the ones with the inserts sewn in were becoming too hard to store. But, I still have some of my faves I could not part with. 😀 Thanks for stopping by.
