10 Ways to Use White Farmhouse Pitchers

Come Springtime, I start gathering my white pitchers to use throughout our home.

Spring may still be several weeks away, but I am starting to get my mindset into Spring mode now.  I have a smaller collection of white Farmhouse pitchers in assorted shapes and sizes.  Some are vintage and some are straight from IKEA.  I love that a white pitcher basically creates a backdrop for any kind of flower or planting, and they are beautiful within a grouping or as a stand alone decor item.  Here are 10 Ways to Use White Farmhouse Pitchers.

Last Spring, I created a simple blue and white tablescape with a white pitcher as the centerpiece in this Farmhouse Kitchen Tablescape. I used white tulips and tall, white willowy flowers – simple but statement filled.

i love your site, and the referrals to other blogs. i have a particular style, and i enjoy looking.
one thing that i am puzzled about, t appears that every surface is used for a display, there is barely any room to set something down. how do you keep all this clean, how do you work in this space, preparing meals, etc.
when the weather permits, our windows are open, i have three dogs, our hobbies are outdoor hobbies,
i don’t want to clean, i don’t want to nag people about sitting on the furniture. your home is lovely, how do you do it?

Susan you have to keep in mind that our blogs are much like magazines… we stage our homes to take pretty pictures for you to enjoy. I also like to remind my readers that an ongoing joke between us bloggers is much of it is smoke and mirrors. In my case, you would be appalled at my house right now outside of the camera view, with three cats and three messy grandchildren living with us. πŸ˜€ Trust me, this is a well-loved home. πŸ˜€

Barb, you are so sweet! I love how genuine you are! Thanks for sharing. I look forward to seeing your blogs in my in box.

Sincerely Ann

Barb and All~
I applaud the consideration of a pretty picture vs. a well lived-in home. I grew up in a picture perfect setting. No fun. Living and loving are messy propositions! But there is a good lesson of self responsibility when we all clean up together . . . anyway, that’s the balance I aim for.

Great site. Thanks for all the everyday home ideas.

Love white pitchers with the flowers…I like to group them on my dinning room table. Thanks for your blog…love getting you posts.

I believe the white pitcher is here to stay. I use them all year. especially Spring and Summer. The bring a little crispness to any decor.

Thank you for all the ideas. Love blue and white. Tired of the white snow, though! We live in the snow belt in cny, it’s been a long winter.

I love, love, love white farmhouse pitchers!!!!! Every time I see one I have to purchase it. I agree that they can be place anywhere in your house and they add so much! Thanks for the article. Love them!

These white pitchers all look wonderful; thanks for showing so many of them! And that first amazon link is a great buy–just over $12 for a 64 oz. pitcher! You were kind to find some available for purchase. It’s easy to see things on blogs and wish you could easily find something similar to buy. You’re a smart cookie!

Love all of the great ideas for using white pitchers!! I’ve picked up several different sizes over the last few years at Goodwill and can’t wait to use these ideas in displaying them! Thanks for sharing….

Love all the white pitchers and how they are made to fill a space that I would never have thought would work.

Barb – thanks again for getting me into the spring spirit. I put together some Mardi Gras vignettes and now ready for spring/easter. Again, thanks for your continuing inspiration!

I too love white pitchers and any pitchers actually. Wishing for daffodils to fill one with. Thanks for sharing this early spring inspiration!

What is it about a white pitcher that makes it soooo appealing? I have never found one I did not love and somehow they just end up in my cart and become another fun item to play with. They are even beautiful empty, but your inspirations here are the best! Thank you!

My son and daughter-in-law are building their first home. They are decorating in Modern Farmhouse style. I will definitely be showing them this blog on white pitcher decorating. Just beautiful, simple, and so homey! Thank you.

Barb, I just love white pitchers — and flowers — and your lovely posts!

Have a wonderful weekend!

Blessings!

It’s fun you pick other blogs that are my favorites also, especially Vibeke. Enjoyed this post as it is fresh and hopeful of spring, whenever it finally comes, Thanks, Sandi

I love using the white pitchers for all year round decor. I keep a few of them to vary with the seasons and while I do have some colored pitchers, I still can’t help reaching to my white ones when I am not sure how the others would work. Thanks for sharing the wonderful pictures Barb!

Blessings,
Cindy

Oooh, I love that pitcher of flowers sitting on the stool! I have to find a corner in my home to do that in. So gorgeous! Thanks for sharing your ideas with us at Merry Monday this week!

I didn’t realize how much I loved the simplicity of a white pitcher until my Mother gave me one several years ago. I placed flowers in it and it came to life, and it takes on different lives depending on the new setting it is placed in! She is 86 now and we live it different states. To keep you n touch. Email her a picture of the day. I think it is time to send her a white pitcher picture!

Barb, beautiful pictures and pitchers! I have one farmhouse pitcher, and I use it more often as a vase that for direct purpose! I especially love the picture with vintage scales. Pinned it! πŸ™‚

I really enjoyed the white pitchers. To be honest, I wouldn’t have thought of this and I live in the country! I read about your health scare. Being a breast cancer survivor, the poking and probing isn’t fun. But please continue to monitor. I hope your doctor has a recheck MRI scheduled in 6 months. For your current surgery, I’ve been there too. It’s not a bad surgery, you’ll do great! Enjoy the lake and the much needed rest! !!

Barb, this post has inspired me to go to all the craft stores this week and pick up some floral stems. I have two antique white pitchers to display. Thanks for the ideas & I’m praying for your speedy recovery after your surgery. Hang in there and don’t let your nerves get to you. You will be fine πŸ˜‰

Aw, this was an incredibly good post. Taking the time and actual effort to generate
a superb article… but what can I say… I procrastinate a lot and
never manage to get anything done.

I must thank you for the efforts you have put in writing this blog. In truth, your creative writing abilities has encouraged me to get my very own blog now πŸ˜‰

These white pitchers are so classic and so versatile. They add a nice touch to any area of your home. They look especially nice with greenery or flowers in them.

I have a lazy susan in the middle of my dining room table and I love to load it with three or four bouquets in white pitcherst and then rotate it throughout the day to constantly enjoy a new view.

Hi Colleen – so glad you found The Everyday Home. I hope you enjoyed your visit and come back often. πŸ™‚ Thanks, Barb
